AMD’s third-gen Threadripper and Ryzen 9 3950X CPUs are launching in November

Earlier this year, AMD launched its new third-generation Ryzen CPUs to great effect, but those waiting for the next generation of Threadripper CPUs were left wondering, until today. AMD has confirmed over Twitter with a simple announcement that the initial members of its third-generation Ryzen Threadripper line will be launching in November.

Other than revealing it will premiering a 24-core product, AMD did not confirm anything else about the high-end desktop lineup in regards to specifications. The core count will surely shoot upwards even further as more models are revealed.

This was not the only processor news AMD decided to share today over Twitter, as the company also announced that the highly-anticipated Ryzen 9 3950X CPU release has been pushed back to November. AMD says this is to meet the strong demand it will be facing at launch, and considering the difficulty in finding high-end Ryzen products nowadays, this sounds like a good idea.

The initial announcement of the CPU had it landing in September, aiming to take the crown of being the most powerful Ryzen mainstream processor with its 16-core, 32-thread innards, all for $749.
