Following a lengthy delay, Android Wear 2.0 officially launched last month, and Google said that it would begin making its way to “supported watches in the coming weeks”. Not all Android Wear devices are eligible for the 2.0 upgrade, but the Huawei Watch is on the list.
The update is now making its way to the device, but as with all such updates, it’s likely to take a while before its rollout is complete.
Android Wear 2.0 offers new personalization options, with more detailed information on watch faces, along with improved messaging support, including dictation, typing and handwriting. There are new fitness-focused features too, as well as Google Assistant support, and a new on-watch Google Play store, promising better app support for each device.
At last month’s Mobile World Congress, Huawei also unveiled its new Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic, running Android Wear 2.0 out of the box.
