Microsoft yesterday announced a new partnership with Providence St. Joseph Health to advance the future of health care by leveraging its Azure cloud, among other solutions. Today, the tech giant has unveiled a strategic team-up with ServiceNow, that yet again will be focused on deployment of Azure services, as well as acceleration of digital transformation in enterprise and government sectors.
The agreement serves as an extension to both companies’ cloud computing alliance that was formed in October. ServiceNow will be using Azure as its preferred cloud platform for various highly regulated industries. Furthermore, in addition to its own private cloud, it will also be housing all of its software-as-a-service (SaaS) facilities on Azure. Initially, the firm’s services as part of this new collaboration will be offered in Australia and the Azure Government platform in the U.S., before expanding to additional markets. U.S. government agencies will be relying on both firms’ support to digitally transform through its adoption of modern tech.
On the other hand, Microsoft will be deploying ServiceNow’s IT & Employee Experience workflow products in its own businesses to digitize certain tasks, some of which are currently being performed by employees manually. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella commented on the benefits reaped from the partnership in the following manner:
“There is an enormous opportunity for customers — including in the public sector — to apply the power of the cloud to become more efficient and responsive. Our partnership combines ServiceNow’s expertise in digital workflows with Azure, our trusted cloud, so that customers can accelerate their digital transformation, while meeting their security and compliance needs.”
With this expanded agreement, both companies are hoping to leverage each other’s services, ultimately benefiting their enterprise customers, as well as the U.S. federal government.
