Cave Update: Grappling Hook Add-on

Climb, swing, and launch yourself throughout your Minecraft worlds with the Grappling Hook Crossbow! This pack features early access to the Grappling Hook Crossbow that will be featured in the next version of the Cave Update Add-on. Due to Minecraft’s most recent update ruining the way custom blocks render, I have a lot of work to do in fixing some of my add-ons, so, in the meantime, I will be releasing some smaller packs for a little while.

Quick Video Overview

Hey everyone, Big Onion here. With Minecraft’s most recent update, it changed the way custom block models render, and, as a result, it’s kinda florped things up with a lot of my add-ons. You may have noticed that a lot of custom blocks don’t render anymore. Unfortunately, this will be very difficult for us add-on creators to fix, so in the meantime, I will be releasing smaller add-ons such as this one until I can come up with a work-around.

Because of this, I thought I’d give you all early access to the Grappling Hook Crossbow! It is a new tool that will be featured in the new version of the Cave Update Add-on.

As you may have guessed, it is used similarly to a crossbow except is focused entirely on mobility. When fired, you will be pulled toward where your projectile lands. If the projectile goes too far, or you stay on the rope too long, the rope will snap. This can be pretty dangerous if you are dangling from the ceiling or a high wall.

Even though it does not require any ammunition to fire, it still takes durability damage. To help with this, it can be enchanted with Unbreaking and Mending at an anvil or Enchantment Table.

Recipes

Craft a copper hook for the Grappling Hook Crossbow like so.

Special Thanks to my friend Andy for giving me the Idea for the grappling mechanism!

P.S. Be Sure to enable Experimental Features for this pack to work fully!
