The LG V50 Dual Display is cool, but is that enough? [VIDEO]

The LG V50 ThinQ was announced all the way back in February, but it only recently launched in the U.S. Unfortunately, the U.S. model doesn’t have one of the phone’s most unique features, the Dual Screen attachment, due to the lack of POGO pins. XDA TV‘s Max Weinbach got his hands on the Korean model and the Dual Screen attachment.

Max talks a lot about how the LG V50’s Dual Screen is cool, but that’s about it. He doesn’t find it particularly practical or even that useful. The big black bar separating the two displays is a big bummer. What the Dual Screen does more than anything else is make the idea of a truly foldable phone, such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold, more exciting.

There are a few other issues with the Dual Screen. LG talked a lot about how it can make gaming better by putting a full controller on the second display. However, Max didn’t find it to be all that great. There is a plastic film over the display that causes drag when moving your finger. He doesn’t know if it’s removable or not. Check out the video below to see the LG V50 with Dual Screen in action.
