Have you ever thought that villagers should defend themselves? If so this mod is for you! It adds a new mob called a guard with 2 different attack states and 4 different movement states!
This is part of my villager overhaul for my realm and I thought people would like this.
When nitwits spawn naturally or with an egg they will automatically turn into a guard or archer(random). I have also doubled their spawn rates across the board to get more to spawn naturally.
While holding a shield interact with a jobless villager to turn them into a guard or archer(random).
Have too many Archers? While holding an iron sword interact with an Archer to change them into a Guard!
Have too many Guards? While holding a Crossbow interact with a Guard to change them into an Archer!
The Guard/Archer will randomly walk around. Hold a Campfire, Bell, Clock, or Cake to have them follow you. Default functionality.
The Guard/Archer will stand in place and no move at all. Doing this disables knock-back to prevent them from being knocked out of place. You cannot push them with your player so you can pass right through them without worrying about them moving. Good for guard towers, walls, and gates.
The Guard/Archer will randomly path around then path through the village. Using this will keep them in the interior of the village. Good to protect the center of the village.
The Guard/Archer will path to the out skirts of the village and randomly wander around. Using this will keep the archers around the outskirts of the village. Doing this may get your archers killed or lost. Be sure to close caves and have bridges they will try to avoid water and will path over water if they fall into some.
*While holding the item interact with the guard/villager
*A single particle of Villager Happy will appear over the Guard/Archer/Villager if they accepted your interact.
The Bell will change the Guard’s/Archer’s movement state to Garrison.
The Clock will change the Guard’s/Archer’s movement state to Positioned.
The Campfire will change the Guard’s/Archer’s movement state to Patrol.
The Bed will transform the Guard/Archer into a Jobless Villager.
The Shield will change the Guard’s/Archer’s movement state to Garrison.
THIS MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LEASH-ABLE AND TEMPTABLE VILLAGERS!!

Complete overhaul of the guards.
No longer need to name guards for movement states.
Archer overhaul that introduces Name functions villager, roam, patrol, positioned, and garrison that changes their behaviors.
Archers now flee from enemies instead of running to melee them.
I use Linkvertise because of the current world situation. It’s a simple website that supports me and my work. You’ll have to watch a video(1:08), add a tool to chrome(then immediately delete it, right click the little circle at top right), look at some adds and just click the (X) at the top right wait then do again, or wait 10 secs.
