In this tutorial, we will demonstrate the process of installing mods/addons on Minecraft PE (Pocket Edition). The tutorial is divided into two parts: .MCPack, .MCAddon, and .Zip, .Zar.
.MCPack .MCAddon file
This particular format of mods/addons for Minecraft PE allows for a much faster installation process than ever before! Let’s learn how to install mods for Minecraft PE in .mcpack format:
1. Download the mod itself, which includes all the necessary files in .mcpack or .mcaddon format.
2. Open the folder where the downloaded files are located.
3. Attempt to open the downloaded mod by simply clicking on the .mcpack or .mcaddon file.
4. Sometimes, the mod may not open on your phone. In such cases, we recommend downloading a File Manager from the Google Play Store.
5. Open the File Manager and locate the downloaded mod. Activate it, as it is a straightforward process.
6. At this point, the installation of the mod on your phone will commence. You may encounter a black screen for a brief period, so please be patient and wait for the installation to complete.
7. Don’t forget to apply the necessary behavior and texture packs in the map settings. (Refer to the instructions on how to do this.)
.ZIP .RAR file
The second most popular mod format for Minecraft Pocket Edition is the ZIP or RAR format. These are regular archives that require a slightly longer installation process compared to MCPACK or MCADDON. Let’s dive into the instructions:
1. Firstly, ensure that you have the latest version of Minecraft Pocket Edition installed, or a version that is compatible with the modification you intend to use.
2. Download the archive containing the desired modification. In the example below, we will demonstrate the installation process for the More Chairs addon.
3. For the subsequent steps, you will need a reliable file explorer that allows you to extract the archive. We recommend using the File Manager app from the Google Play Store. All downloaded files can be found in the “Downloads” folder.
4. Using the file explorer, extract the downloaded archive by utilizing the functions provided by the File Manager program.
5. Open the folder that is created after extracting the archive.
6. Depending on the changes made by the addon, the archive may contain 1 or 2 folders inside.
